Memphis,TN - The Memphis Urban League Young Professionals 2011 Agents of Change were awarded Sat., Dec. 3, during a sold out banquet at Opera Memphis. The awards ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of 11 professional and civic leaders for their commitment to their respective professions and the City of Memphis.

MEMPHIS, TN (11/21/11) – The Memphis Urban League Young Professionals (MULYP) is pleased to announce the finalists for its second annual Agents of Change Awards. A red tie (black tie with a holiday flair) affair, the Agents of Change Awards will honor young minority professionals making positive changes in the Memphis community. The event will be held Saturday, December 3 at Opera Memphis (6745 Wolf River Parkway) at 7:00 p.m., where the winners will be named.

MULYP 2011-2012 Board of Directors named
Memphis Urban League Young Professionals' 2011-12 Board of Directors was announced during the organizations inaugural Agents of Change Gala on Dec. 17. The incoming board was elected during a General Body meeting on Nov. 18. The new board members are:

Memphis Urban League Young Professionals (MULYP) is a service oriented leadership organization designed to support the objectives of the National Urban League, Memphis Urban League, and National Urban League Young Professionals. Our mission is to promote the development of young professionals (ages 21-40) in the Memphis area and to serve our affiliates through social and community action. Our empowerment platform includes five main areas:
- Financial Literacy and Empowerment
- Youth Mentoring and Development
- Civic Engagement and Advocacy
- Personal and Professional Development
- Health Literacy and Advocacy
Memphis Urban League Young Professionals' primary objective is to support the objectives of the Memphis Urban League, National Urban League and the National Urban League Young Professionals. We also strive to make a positive impact in in the Greater Memphis area through the efforts of young, committed, and talented Memphis residents. Although we are only in our seventh year as a Young Professional Chapter, we are growing at a rapid pace. Join the Movement!
